The Bull Tavern is a 15th century tavern sat in the heart of the beautiful Dorset countryside on the outskirts of our local town Sturminster Newton. This beautiful rural area is what caught the eye of local brewers’ Hall & Woodhouse and we serve traditional Dorset ales and outstanding home cooked meals. In the winter you can sit by our open fire or in our stables with the original stable doors that create private dining areas or can be opened up to create a large function room. For the summertime we have a wonderful beer garden and views of the river Stour that is great for an afternoon stroll or a bit of fishing.
The Bull Tavern is run by Lance and Marianne aka Sir Lancelot and Maid Marianne. Them and their trusty team of merry men and women offer a warm welcome in a cosy and traditional tavern.
Our local trail way and Mill offer a beautiful area for walking and cycling so we are ideally situated for refreshments, light lunches and evening meals. With our flag stone flooring you needn’t worry about wet wellies and dogs are very welcome, even tired and well walked wet dogs!
